Steve Morris and Sarah Marshall run Ellison's from a corner building where Kells Lane meets Dryden Road in Low Fell, having originally bought the property to house The Dotty House, a gift shop that still trades from the same address. What started as a coffee counter grew into a full deli and bistro, serving brunch, flatbreads, burgers and sandwiches through the week and a Sunday lunch at weekends. The name recalls Lord Ellison, who developed the street when it was known as Ellison Road in 1875, a detail the couple use on their signage. The deli case runs alongside the bistro seating, so customers can buy food to take home as well as eat in. Evenings bring occasional comedy nights and kitchen takeovers. The Dotty House next door supplies cards and gifts under the same roof.
