Ely Guest House occupies a former coaching inn on St Marys Street, two minutes' walk from Ely Cathedral, and has traded as a family-run guest house for over two decades. The building dates from the 18th and 19th centuries and retains period features such as exposed beams, combined with five individually decorated en-suite guest rooms with modern fixtures. A Thai restaurant occupies the ground floor of the same building, seating over sixty diners and operated alongside the guest house, giving overnight guests an on-site dining option. Rooms are let on a room-only or bed-and-breakfast basis, and the guest house takes bookings for short breaks as well as longer stays connected to visits to the cathedral, the city's museums and the riverside. It remains one of a small number of independently owned overnight stays within Ely's historic core rather than out on the ring road.
