The Eel Catcher's Daughter is an independent homewares and gift shop on Ely High Street, owned and run by Helen Watkins. It occupies a stone building dating from the 16th century that once formed part of the Ely Cathedral school, identifiable from the street by its hand-painted windows carrying the shop's own logo. Inside, the small shop stocks textiles, candles, cards, kitchenware and other gift items, sourced mainly from small British suppliers alongside pieces by local designers and makers. Staff wrap purchases by hand at the till. The shop sits a short walk from Ely Cathedral and the riverside, within the cluster of independent traders along the High Street, and is a stop for both regular local customers and visitors passing through the city.
