Honey Wood Orchard sits at Huntshaw, a hamlet near Great Torrington, where Chris Tattershell's family and the local Torrington Cavaliers planted the first trees in 2015. The single orchard now runs to around 450 trees across 65 heritage cider varieties, grown on traditional standard rootstock without sprays or added fertiliser. Fruit is pressed and fermented using only natural sugars, without added sulphates, to make traditional North Devon cider, with older batches turned into cider vinegar. Now cared for by the Sorrell Simmons family, the orchard welcomes visitors for tours and tastings in its barn Tap Room, and holds an annual wassail each winter to bless the trees, a custom that ties the business to older West Country cider traditions.
