Joanne Bowles Jewellery occupies a shopfront and workshop at 23 Little Minster Street, just off The Square in Winchester. The space began before the pandemic as Winchester Makers, a jewellery studio and shop set up by jeweller Suzannah Key to give local craftspeople a public outlet, and has since been rebranded under Joanne Bowles, who trained at the Royal College of Art. Behind the counter, Joanne makes bespoke pieces in gold and silver, working with simple forms and textured surfaces, and the shop sells rings, necklaces, earrings and bangles alongside a curated selection of gifts from other makers. The workshop runs regular hands-on classes, including ring carving, stacking-ring making, bangle making and stud-earring sessions, priced for a single afternoon. It operates from this one Winchester premises, combining retail, commissions and repairs with teaching, in a small city-centre space that keeps its workbenches visible to visitors and customers.
