Kristy's Bakery traces back to 1933, when sisters Alice Marjorie Taylor and Kathleen opened a small bakery and café on St Helen's Road, Swansea. The original premises was bombed during the Second World War, as was a second site on Alexandra Road, before the business settled on Eversley Road in Sketty. Since 1997 it has been owned by Antonio Carra, who has added Italian breads, cakes and pasta sauces, including focaccia, pizza, cannoli and panettone, alongside the traditional Welsh bread and cake recipes. The bakery still bakes on site daily and sells traditional wedding cakes and chocolates from its bread counter. It remains a single, family-run shop rather than a chain, and is among the longest-trading bakeries in Swansea. It opens Tuesday to Saturday.
