Leaded Light occupies a house built in 1903 on Warwick Road in Olton, on the Solihull side of the Birmingham boundary, and has traded as a bed and breakfast since 1986. It is run today by owner Helen Perry as a small, independently owned guest house rather than a hotel-chain outpost, with a handful of individually furnished rooms retaining period features such as the leaded windows that give the house its name. Breakfast is cooked to order each morning in a dining room overlooking the garden, and guests have access to a lounge, off-road parking and free wifi. The house sits about two miles from Solihull town centre and within easy reach of the NEC, Birmingham Airport and the M42, making it a base used by business travellers and exhibition visitors as much as by tourists. Perry has continued to run the property as a family business through decades of change on the surrounding Warwick Road, one of the area's main routes into Birmingham.
