The WhippetInn

Paul and Debbie opened the Whippet Inn in a former dress shop on Tamworth Street in April 2014, Lichfield's first micropub. CAMRA named it Staffordshire Pub of the Year the following year. There's no bar to lean on; four hand pulls turn over cask ales sourced from independent breweries around the country, alongside two real ciders and canned craft beer. The room seats around 25 of the roughly 45 people it can hold, with a small outdoor area for milder evenings. A Wednesday cribbage league and a monthly quiz keep a regular crowd coming back, and a free cheeseboard appears on the bar on Sundays. Dogs are welcome, and locally baked cobs are usually available. The pub is closed on Mondays.
