Wine Republic occupies a shopfront on Heol Y Deri in Rhiwbina, combining a wine merchant with a bar where much of the stock can be tried by the glass. It was opened in 2023 by Adam Pledger, previously behind the Park House Restaurant and Wine Bar in the city centre, and stocks more than 1,300 bottles sourced largely from small, family-run producers rather than large-scale brands. Reservations are recommended for the bar on Friday and Saturday evenings, when tables fill for wine alongside cheese and charcuterie boards. During the day the shop trades primarily as a bottle shop, with staff offering recommendations across the range. Its position on Rhiwbina's small high street places it alongside the village's other independent food and drink traders.
