Ben's FarmShop

Ben Watson started with farm-raised sausages on Totnes market in 1983, and the family's shops — four of them, all in Devon: the original at Staverton, Yealmpton since 1997, this High Street shop since 2004 and Exeter's Magdalen Road since 2017 — took his name in 2017, having traded until then as Riverford Farm Shops. The relation is exactly what it sounds: these are the Watsons of Riverford, though the shops are a legally separate family company, with Ben's son Harry now on the board. Butchery from the family's farming, a deli counter, organic fruit and veg and a serious drinks shelf; the Staverton and Yealmpton branches add cafés.
