Opened in March 2008 by Tim West and Simon Key, two former Waterstones booksellers whose Wood Green branch had closed the previous year. The single-unit shop stocks new fiction and nonfiction and hosts regular author events, comedy nights and a children's story time. It has weathered several funding difficulties through community fundraising campaigns organised directly by its founders rather than outside investment.
