Bistro Bermo occupies a small dining room on Church Street in Barmouth, run by Ola and Jose, who returned to Wales after seven years running their own restaurant in Baiona, Spain. Jose trained in Chester, spending around a decade as head chef at the Mill Hotel before a spell at Willington Hall, and brings that French and Spanish grounding to a menu built around Welsh produce: local lamb, steaks, and whatever fish the boats bring in, finished with a Welsh cheeseboard. The bistro was named a Gold Seal winner in the Good Food Awards 2025/26, recognising three years of consistently high customer ratings. Dinner runs Tuesday to Saturday evenings plus Sunday lunch, with the kitchen closed on Mondays and happy to accommodate dietary needs on request.
