Bookends

Bookends is Bangor's second-hand bookshop, a single owner-run room on Dufferin Avenue given over to used and antiquarian books, with a particular strength in children's books and local history. It is the kind of shop you go into for one thing and leave an hour later with three others, sorted and priced by someone who knows the stock. In a seaside town that has lost much of its independent retail to the usual pressures, Bookends has held on — a proper second-hand bookshop, which every town should have and few still do.
