Boot Wharf sits on the Coventry Canal at Bull Ring in Coton, on the edge of Nuneaton, where a small trading wharf once served the area's coal and goods traffic. The site fell into disrepair before being restored between 2004 and 2006 by Star Line Boats, a narrowboat builder that started out as Measham Boats in 1997 and later added wide-beam boats to its output. Alongside its boatbuilding and fitting-out work, the company hires out day boats, including the Elena, for short trips on the canal, with moorings available for passing traffic. Hire boats come fitted with kitchens, sleeping areas and bathrooms, and life jackets and a safety briefing are provided before departure. The wharf lies close to George Eliot Hospital, just off the A444, and remains a working boatyard as well as a hire base rather than a purely recreational marina. Boat hire and repairs are arranged by phone or through the company's website, with hours varying seasonally.
