Cargo Coffee

Cargo Coffee runs from a fleet of repurposed shipping containers on Belfast Road, operating what founder Ben McTaggart describes as Northern Ireland's only independent drive-thru speciality coffee format. The business opened in 2017 and pairs bagels and baked goods with espresso built on beans from Bailies Coffee, and since June 2020 has bottled its own signature house roast for a mail-order subscription sold in bags from 150g to 1kg. Customers order from their cars at a container-built counter rather than stepping inside, a format McTaggart carried over from his hospitality background rather than the standard café template. Cargo also caters platters for offices and events around Bangor, and operates daily.
