Crown &Anchor

Erica and Georgie run this Grade II listed freehouse on Brixham's inner harbour quay, a single narrow room with a brick fireplace and log-burning stove toward the front and a small bar counter at the back. A painted sign above an old wooden settle records an inn on the site since 1623, and local tradition holds that William of Orange came ashore here in 1688 before marching on London. Photographs of Brixham's fishing trawlers, past and present, line the walls, a reminder of the town's working harbour trade. As a freehouse it is tied to no single brewery, and pours Bays Topsail alongside a changing guest ale such as Dartmoor Legend, plus real cider. Food is limited to a traditional selection of light lunches served at midday.
