Kevin and Milly Stokes began growing vegetables at Farndon Fields on the edge of Market Harborough in the early 1980s, selling the first produce from a stall inside the family's farmhouse garage from 1985. The shop has since grown to include its own butchery, a deli and cheese counter, a bakery, a garden and gift area, and the Farmer's Kitchen café serving food made from produce grown on the surrounding farmland and sourced from other growers across Leicestershire, Northamptonshire and Kettering. Kevin and the team still run the fresh produce side of the business alongside the wider shop, which now opens seven days a week including reduced Sunday and bank holiday hours. The site remains a working farm as well as a shop, with vegetables still grown across the fields visible from the car park.
