Frank and Rachel started Fidela in 2019, after coming home to the north coast, and built it around an unusual advantage: the coffee is grown on their own family's farms in Nariño, in southern Colombia, and roasted here at Lower Newmills outside Coleraine. That direct line from a family's land to the roaster is rare in a trade built on brokers, and it is the whole point of the place. They roast to order, run a subscription, and pour it at the roastery. For a coast that has come late but fast to speciality coffee, Fidela is about as close to the source as it gets.
