Frank Parker Butchers has traded from 33 Abbey Green since 1896, making it one of Nuneaton's longest-running family businesses. Founder Frank Parker, now in his eighties, still visits the shop his family has run for five generations; his sons Tim and Jon lead day-to-day trading today, with three of Tim's children, Hannah, Ben and George, also working the counter. The shop sells beef, lamb, pork and poultry alongside its own recipe sausages, pork pies and burgers, made on site using methods passed down through the family. In the 1990s the business was named Best Shop in the Midlands three times, and in 2000 it won UK's Best Butchers Shop. A car park sits alongside the shop on Abbey Green, in the historic Abbey area of Nuneaton near the ruins of Nuneaton Priory. The shop opens Monday to Saturday, closing on Sundays, and continues to supply the town with fresh meat and homemade products across five generations of the same family.
