Hamlet occupies a corner unit on Peach Place in Wokingham town centre, opened in 2021 by Rob Chasteauneuf and Daniel Hardman, who had worked together in professional kitchens before starting the business. Chasteauneuf trained under Heston Blumenthal and Ashley Palmer-Watts, and that background shows in a menu built around seasonal British produce and sharing plates rather than set courses. By day, an on-site deli counter sells British cheeses, cured meats and coffee alongside pastries; in the evening the dining room switches to a shorter, chef-led menu served Friday and Saturday nights. The pair sources from named local suppliers rather than wholesalers where possible. Opening hours run Monday to Thursday 8am to 4pm and Friday and Saturday 8am to 11pm, with dinner service from 6pm, and Sunday 9am to 3.30pm.
