Maldon Books

Maldon Books stands at the top of the town's High Street, opened by Olivia Rosenthall in December 2019 after she noticed the empty premises and left her earlier bookshop job to start out alone. Her mother Yolanda and colleague Eleanor now run the shop alongside her, stocking fiction and non-fiction for children and adults, local history titles, cards, gift wrap and jigsaws. Novel Sounds, a companion record stall selling new and second-hand vinyl, trades from inside the same building. The shop looks out toward All Saints Church and was named a regional finalist for the Independent Bookshop of the Year award. Browsing is welcome seven days a week, and staff order in specific titles for customers on request, keeping a personal service central to how the shop operates.
