McGlaughlin's has traded on James Street in Cookstown since 1962 and is now run by the third generation of the same family. The front counter sells home-baked breads, traybakes, cakes and pastries made on the premises, while the coffee house behind serves breakfasts, paninis, wraps and salad boxes through the day. The bakery still makes bread and celebration cakes to order alongside its daily range, and the coffee side has grown from the original bakery counter as the shop was renovated over the years. It draws a mix of locals collecting bread for the week and customers sitting in for lunch or coffee. A food hygiene inspection in May 2025 rated the premises Good for hygienic food handling. The business has no branches beyond this one Cookstown premises.
