McKeowns Fish & Poultry has traded from the same High Street premises in Bangor since 1891, making it reputedly the town's oldest surviving family business. James McKeown opened the shop and it passed to his son John before Sean McKeown, the third generation, took over the counter, which sells fresh fish alongside poultry and game according to season. Three rival fishmongers that once traded nearby in Bangor have since closed, leaving McKeowns as the last of its kind in the town centre.
