Malcolm and Angela Miller started Millers Farm Shop at Gammons Hill in 1982, having previously grown daffodil bulbs at Barritshayes Farm in nearby Colyton. Their son James now runs the business with his wife Olivia, who oversees stock and staff while James manages the farm and finances. The shop still grows some of its own vegetables and stocks Lyme Bay fish, local beef, pork and lamb, dairy from nearby farms, and bread baked fresh each morning. One habit sets it apart: James and Olivia travel to France most weeks to bring back cheeses, charcuterie and other produce not otherwise found in this corner of Devon. What began as a roadside vegetable stall off the Axminster road has grown into a full farm shop without losing the family that runs it.
