Rowan GardenCentre

Rowan Garden Centre is an independent, plant-led nursery on Gorelands Lane, on the edge of Chalfont St Giles. The emphasis is squarely on growing stock rather than the gift-and-café sprawl of larger centres: trees, shrubs, herbaceous perennials, seasonal bedding and houseplants make up the bulk of the site, backed by staff horticulturists who offer planting advice and one-to-one consultations. Alongside the plants there are tools, composts, pots and sundries, plus a rotating selection of locally made Hogben stoneware pottery. The centre draws gardeners from across the Chalfonts, Amersham, Gerrards Cross and Rickmansworth, and stays deliberately small in scale. It is independently owned and single-site, with knowledgeable staff on hand for choosing plants suited to Chiltern chalk soils and to shaded or exposed positions. An on-site countryside café has run on and off through the seasons.
