Richard and Lesley Jenkinson founded Chiltern Brewery in 1980 on a working farm at Terrick, between Wendover and Aylesbury, making it one of the first microbreweries in the country. Their sons George and Tom now run the business, brewing with English malt and hops and, for their small-batch Bucks Barley ale, barley grown regeneratively on the nearby Waddesdon Estate. The brewery shop sits on the same site as the mash tuns and fermenting vessels, open six days a week with free parking, and the whole visit, shop included, is level access with no steps. The Chiltern range is stocked at around 100 outlets across the region, and the brewery's tap, the King's Head in Aylesbury, dates from 1455.
