Sandpiper Inn,Ilfracombe

The Sandpiper Inn occupies a mid-nineteenth-century building on Broad Street in Ilfracombe harbour, previously known as the Crown Inn and originally a meeting place for the town's sailors and fishermen. Kevin and Karen have run the pub for around ten years, serving real ale alongside home-cooked food in the bar, and have converted a former function room into bed and breakfast accommodation with ensuite rooms. The pub trades as a single free house rather than as part of a managed group, with its quayside position giving direct views over Ilfracombe harbour.
