Seacourt Print Workshop was founded in 1981 by Margaret Arthur and Jean Duncan, initially operating from Bangor's Seacourt Teacher's Centre before moving beneath Bangor Library in 1989. Since 2021 it has occupied the former Ulster Bank building on Main Street, a B2 listed structure that reopened in October 2024 after an extensive renovation. The registered charity runs an open-access printmaking workshop offering lino printing, wood engraving, screen printing and lithography, alongside eleven artists' studios let to working members. Bangor's first dedicated professional gallery sits within the same building, staging exhibitions that have included a show by a pop art pioneer, alongside community and schools education programmes and artist residencies. Around sixty members use the workshop and studio spaces. Seacourt operates independently, run as a standalone charity rather than a branch of a larger organisation, and remains a distinct fixture on Bangor's Main Street. Its gallery and workshop are open to visitors alongside members' access to the studios and press.
