The Acorn Gallery was opened in Pocklington's Market Place in 2007 by John and Diane, whose interest in collecting art began in 2003 when they bought a bronze elephant sculpture at a gallery in Epping for £295. They later found an empty shop in the town, stripped it back and refitted it themselves before opening as a gallery across two rooms. The stock ranges across paintings, limited edition prints, and sculpture in bronze, stone and resin, plus ceramics, glass and neon pieces, with work by artists including Mackenzie Thorpe, Craig Davison and Alexander Millar sold alongside pieces by lesser-known makers at lower price points. The gallery is open Tuesday to Saturday, with Sunday and Monday visits available by appointment only.
