Wicstun Distillery

Wicstun Distillery takes its name from the old Anglo-Saxon word for Market Weighton, where husband-and-wife team Jago and Lisa Packer opened it in March 2022 as the town's first licensed distillery. Working from Unit 1 on Lambert Enterprise Park, they distil gin, rum, vodka and liqueurs in small batches, with flavours drawn from the Yorkshire Wolds around the town. The couple moved from years of home brewing wine, cider, mead and beer into a licensed operation, and are supported by their children Emily and Alex, making it a genuinely family-run concern. The site is a working production unit rather than a shop, so it is not always staffed and visitors are asked to call ahead; the distillery also runs booked tours and tastings on site. Bottles are sold through its own online shop and regional stockists as well as at the door.
