The BankHouse

The Bank House occupies a former bank building on Edward Road in Whitehead, run by owner Sinead Moane as a café, deli and gift shop under the registered company Bank House Cafe Ltd, incorporated in 2014. The kitchen serves salads, sandwiches and daily specials using locally sourced ingredients, including bread from McKees Bakery and coffee roasted by Bailies, with herbs grown in the café's own garden. The retail side of the building sells local craft, art and gifts, and the venue hosts live music evenings for customers. Whitehead's Victorian and Edwardian streetscape surrounds the café, a short walk from the town's promenade and steam railway station. The Bank House has picked up local hospitality recognition and continues to trade from its original Edward Road address, with the owner living next door in the former bank manager's house. It remains a single-site, independently owned business rather than part of any group.
