The Daily Knead opened on Station Road in Totnes on 11 April 2025, started by owner Felicity after a search for a proper almond croissant in her own town came up empty. She put David in charge of the ovens as head baker, and the counter now turns out stoneground sourdough, focaccia, filled croissants and Danish pastries made fresh each day until they sell out. Flour comes partly from Wild Farmed, a regenerative grower in the Cotswolds, while other ingredients are sourced through Devon suppliers including Forest Produce in Exeter. Coffee is roasted by The Coffee Company in Newton Abbot rather than made in-house. The bakery is takeaway-focused, closes on Mondays, and had already outgrown its original space within months of opening.
