The West Kirby Bookshop opened on 23 July 2022, founded by Dan and Jordan Taylor-Jones, who brought together backgrounds in bookselling, publicity and hospitality. Jordan works as an independent book publicist, while Dan has spent most of his life in the area, giving the pair a mix of trade knowledge and local connection. Their arrival returned a bookshop to West Kirby's Grange Road for the first time in over a decade. The shop stocks a curated range of literary fiction, non-fiction and children's books alongside gifts, and runs a lively events programme with visiting authors, a monthly book club and visits to local schools. Demand for space saw the business move to larger premises on Grange Road in 2025. It now opens Wednesday to Saturday from 10am to 6pm and Sunday from 11am to 4pm, closed Monday and Tuesday.
