An IndependentZebra

An Independent Zebra began as a three-month pop-up on Raeburn Place in the summer of 2016 and has since become a permanent fixture of Stockbridge's shopping street. The shop stocks homeware, furniture, gifts and small pieces of design from more than two hundred British makers and independent brands, ranging from ceramics and textiles to candles, prints and children's items. Stock is arranged across several rooms of a converted shopfront, with new pieces brought in regularly rather than a fixed seasonal collection. The shop supports small-scale producers rather than mass-manufactured lines, and staff can usually speak to the origin of individual pieces on the shelves. It sits among a run of independent retailers on Raeburn Place, within reach of Stockbridge's Sunday market and the Water of Leith walkway.
