Re-Union Canal Boats has operated on the Union Canal since 2004, when a group of volunteers began running trips from Fountainbridge to widen access to a stretch of waterway then used by only a narrow section of the city. It now trades as the working arm of the Fountainbridge Canalside Community Trust, a registered charity, running two vessels: the wide-beam Lochrin Belle, fitted out by volunteers with Heritage Lottery Fund support and able to carry up to thirty-five passengers, and the smaller narrowboat Waterwitch. Public trips run between Fountainbridge and Harrison Park and back, taking around forty-five minutes, alongside private charters for groups. Both boats are wheelchair accessible and fitted with toilets and small galley kitchens. Booking and payment are handled in advance rather than on the day.
