Ârtisserie occupies a shopfront on Tenterden High Street, where a pastry chef makes viennoiserie, artisan cakes and bread by hand each morning before opening. The counter runs from croissants and pastries through to sandwiches and made-to-order celebration cakes, with a gluten-free option available on request. It opens Tuesday to Saturday from nine until four and Sunday mornings until two, closing only on Mondays. The name nods to the shop's patisserie roots rather than a generic bakery-cafe format, and seating is limited to a handful of tables for those eating in rather than taking away.
