Local records place a butcher's shop on the site from around 1950, and the business has continued to trade under the Walbrin name since, making it the last surviving butcher's shop in the town. The shop sells fresh and prepared meat, with staff offering advice on cuts to suit particular meals and occasions. It remains registered with Lewes District Council's food hygiene scheme, with an inspection recorded as recently as July 2025, confirming it continues to trade. As one of the few independent food shops left on Seaford's High Street, Walbrin's has watched national chains and changing shopping habits close most of its former neighbours, while continuing to serve regular local customers from behind its own counter.
