Chez Moi

Hakim Lahoussine runs Chez Moi on Southport's Lord Street, cooking the classical French repertoire he learned working kitchens in Marseille and Paris before moving to London, where he cooked at Quaglino's, Chez Gerard and Pierre Victoire. The menu runs from moules mariniere and frogs' legs to a seafood platter, Chateaubriand and T-bone steaks cut to order, finishing with crepe suzette, creme brulee or tarte tatin. Diners travel from across Merseyside for the fish specialities, and the dining room mixes regulars with visitors working through a menu that still lists escargots alongside a simpler pizza for less adventurous appetites. Chez Moi opens Tuesday to Sunday and closes on Mondays.
