Christopher Hughes shows his own paintings, porcelain and prints from a garden studio he had built at his home in Holly Green, near Upton-upon-Severn. He trained as a ceramic painter at the Royal Worcester Porcelain Company, where he became one of the leading decorators of the firm's vases and plaques, specialising in highland cattle, game birds and Worcester fruit; pieces signed 'C. Hughes Royal Worcester' still circulate through auction houses and collectors' programmes. He left to work freelance in January 1980 and has painted and taught since, in watercolour and oils as well as hand-painted china, with subjects ranging from the Malvern Hills to birds of prey. The gallery displays originals, signed prints and painted porcelain for sale. Visits to the studio and showroom are by appointment, arranged directly with the artist by phone or email.
