Claire Griffiths trained in ceramics at Ravensbourne College of Art and Design before completing an MA in Fine Art at UCA Canterbury, and opened her purpose-built studio on Seeshill Close, Whitstable, in September 2018. Classes are capped at five students across weekly sessions on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays, running as six-week courses for beginners and returning students alike. She also runs one-day taster workshops covering wheel throwing and hand-built sculpture for visitors who want a single session rather than a full course. With more than twenty-five years of teaching experience behind her, Griffiths gives most of the individual attention herself rather than delegating to assistants, and the small class sizes are a deliberate choice rather than a space constraint.
