The Twelve Taps is a craft beer, gin and cocktail bar at 102 High Street in Whitstable, opened in 2016 by owners Becca and Libby. Twelve keg lines rotate craft beer styles, including a permanent gluten-free option, poured through sealed kegs to keep the beer unpasteurised and free of extraneous gas in line with CAMRA's definition of real ale. The bar also stocks its own Whitstable Gin, made exclusively for the venue, alongside a seasonal cocktail list. No kitchen operates on site, though customers may bring in food from nearby takeaways, and a summer courtyard extends seating outdoors. The venue runs as an independent, single-site business rather than a branch of a wider bar group, and describes itself as a queer-run, inclusive space with non-gendered toilets. Opening hours run from 5pm on weekdays, from 1pm at weekends, with the bar closed on Mondays.
