Clyde Charters operates boat trips from Kip Marina in Inverkip, also trading as Firth of Clyde Boat Tours, and has run for roughly eight years under skippers Ed and Paula, who are also volunteer Wildlife Medics with British Divers Marine Life Rescue. The business runs its RIB Obsession out to the wreck of the Sugar Boat off Greenock, on wildlife-watching trips looking for bottlenose dolphins, and on longer scenic runs toward Little Cumbrae and the surrounding lochs of the Clyde. Trips also depart from James Watt Marina in Greenock, and private charters can be arranged outside the standard schedule. The boat carries up to ten passengers, keeping trips small rather than running to a fixed touring timetable. Clyde Charters is an independent local operator rather than part of a national tour operator network, with bookings taken directly through its own website. Trips run seasonally and are weather dependent, with the operators drawing on local knowledge of the Firth of Clyde's currents, wrecks and wildlife.
