Detaljer opened on Princess Street in 2021, run by Caterine, a Swede who brought the ritual of fika to Knutsford. The narrow shop splits into a coffee counter at the front and a small lifestore at the back, so customers queue for a flat white past shelves of Scandinavian ceramics, candles and greetings cards. Cinnamon and cardamom buns are baked on the premises each morning, alongside soups, toasties and a rotating list of cakes with vegan and gluten-free options. Coffee is locally roasted and served without fuss; regulars come for the unhurried pace as much as the pastries. Staff wrap gifts for free, a small courtesy that keeps the lifestore side of the business ticking over between coffee orders. Detaljer trades Monday to Saturday from eight and Sunday from nine, closing at four or five depending on the day.
