Fleming Butchers has traded from West Port in Arbroath since 1925, taken on by the Thompson family, who also run Longparke Farm Shop in Monifieth, in September 2022. The counter stocks beef, pork, lamb and poultry alongside bacon, sausages, puddings and cooked meats, sourced from farms across Angus, Perthshire, Fife, Aberdeenshire and North Lanarkshire. All pork comes from Upper Carbarns Farm in North Lanarkshire and carries RSPCA Assured certification. Staff can trace every cut back to the farm it came from, a point the shop makes central to its stock rather than treating it as a footnote. Online ordering runs alongside the shop counter, with free local delivery above ten pounds in Arbroath and click-and-collect for those passing by. The shop opens Monday to Saturday, closing on Sunday, keeping to trading hours set decades before the current owners took charge.
