Inchcape Marine Services runs sea angling and sightseeing trips from Arbroath Harbour aboard a single boat, Ultimate Predator, skippered by Alex Smith. Fishing trips run from three to six hours and take individuals or groups of up to twenty-four out for cod, ling, wrasse, coalfish, pollack and mackerel depending on season. Sightseeing trips cover the coastline around Arbroath, weather and tides permitting, with the business operating most days when conditions allow. Alongside passenger trips, the firm also holds commercial safety and workboat contracts, work that keeps it running through the quieter months for angling. It is a genuinely one-vessel, one-skipper operation based at the harbour rather than a franchised tour operator, with bookings taken directly with Smith rather than through a third-party agency.
