Tom and James Persey run this farm shop beside the Honiton road outside Cullompton, on land the Persey family has farmed since William and Mary Persey moved there in 1942. The farm has since converted to organic methods and keeps its own herd of Longhorn cattle, butchered and hung in the shop's in-house butchery, with other meat sourced from within twelve miles of the site. Counters include a delicatessen, cheese counter, greengrocer and bakery, and a separate fish shop next door sells the day's catch. An on-site café serves food made from produce sold in the shop itself. The business is run jointly by third-generation family members, continuing a shift from purely agricultural production toward direct retail that began with earlier generations of the family.
