Gallery Stamford occupies a shopfront on Maiden Lane, a narrow lane off the town's High Street, and works as both an independent commercial gallery and a picture-framing workshop. It shows a rotating range of original paintings and limited-edition and open-edition prints by artists working locally and nationally, covering landscape, botanical, abstract and animal subjects. A bespoke framing service operates alongside the gallery, and the shop also sells artists' materials and craft supplies for people working at home. The business is a member of the Guild of Master Craftsmen and the Fine Art Trade Guild. Work can be bought directly off the wall or ordered in, and staff advise on framing, mounting and hanging. It is a single site rather than part of a national chain, one of several small galleries clustered around Maiden Lane and the neighbouring High Street in the centre of Stamford.
