Le Cap

Le Cap opened on Strand Street in Sandwich in December 2025, run by Valentin, who trained in hospitality management at a college in Le Touquet, France, and Nicole, who studied tourism management in Port Elizabeth, South Africa. The couple built the menu around the food of their two home countries, serving crepes and savoury galettes alongside South African-influenced dishes such as prawns in a garlic and lemon butter sauce. Valentin previously worked in Michelin-starred kitchens across Europe before the couple settled in east Kent and opened their own café. The shopfront is modest, set within Sandwich's historic centre and medieval street plan.
