The StrandWine Company

The Strand Wine Company was established in 2006 by Glen Williams and Derrick Smith, who between them bring more than forty years of experience in the drinks trade. The shop, on The Strand in Walmer near Deal, stocks wine, beer and spirits ranging from established regional producers to smaller, less familiar names. Staff choose the range themselves rather than buying from a central list, and can advise on pairings for a particular meal or occasion. The shop keeps long opening hours into the evening on Fridays and Saturdays, making it a stop for last-minute purchases as well as considered ones. It remains independently owned, with no branches beyond this single shop.
