Narey's Garden Centre has traded from Spikes Lane just north of Stowmarket since 1955, making it one of the longer-established family garden centres in mid-Suffolk. The business passed down through the Narey family, with the current generation, headed by David Narey, taking on day-to-day running in 2000 after his father and grandfather built up the site before him. Stock covers shrubs, trees, roses, seasonal bedding, and grow-your-own fruit and vegetable plants, alongside a garden shop selling furniture, tools, water features and decorative aggregates. An on-site café serves customers browsing the plant houses, and the centre sits just off the A1308 near junction 49 of the A14, roughly equidistant from Ipswich and Bury St Edmunds. It opens seven days a week, with shorter Sunday hours. Now in its seventh decade under the same family, it has stayed independent through a period in which many Suffolk garden centres were bought up by larger operators.
